Video Capabilities of N900

Nokia’s latest flagship device, the N900 is a revolutionary device for it has now become difficult to draw a clear line between mobile computer and a phone. While much has been talked about its computing capabilities, very little is known of its video capability, that is until now.

The latest video doing the rounds among the N900 fanboys, is the video sample of N900 showing its fixed focusing capabilities. After seeing the video sample, I gotta say that not only is the N900 a mobile computer but also an accomplished cam-corder. Hit on the jump button to see what makes us say that.

As you can see, the N900 comes pre-loaded with first fixed focusing for the video recording, meaning the N900 sets the focus to the first thing focussed on while starting the video and continues to focus on the same point even after changing the frame. However, video recording can always be stopped and re-started by setting the focus point on the required object to get the required results. While dynamic focus would have been a great feature to have on the N900, the fixed first focus can be used to get stunning videos as well. The dynamic focusing feature can also be added to an already  impressive specifications list of N900 with a firmware upgrade.

Just in case if you were thinking of getting that pocket cam-corder  (that is along with a smartphone) for the coming holiday season, the N900 is something you should seriously consider.
